KO3 Tire review, Wet Conditions in Alaska

The pervious KO2 tires were not known for their wet performance. In fact, they were terrible in liquid. So bad. Even with that said I was a huge fan of the KO2’s and I have purchased a couple of sets in pass. The KO2’s felt like a risk every time it rained, and in Oklahoma we would get a ton of rain a one time. Here in Alaska, it’s just wet, a lot. Well our last two summers have been pretty wet up here. So I was a little worried about the KO3’s when it rains.

When the tires were mounted on my new Method Race Wheels Anchorage was in the middle of a rain storm that lasted for days. Right off the bat I was driving in wet conditions. We had a two houri-sh drive from Anchorage to Talkeetna in the dark, in the rain, new tires lets just say my knuckles were white for a bit.

Lucky my knuckles didn’t stay white very long. With each wet mile I drove on my new BFGoodrich KO3 All Terrain tires I felt more confident. My grip slowly softened, I wasn’t holding my breathe for long periods of time, and I didn’t feel the need to poop anymore.

I was becoming a fan of these tires with each mile we drove. They were so smooth, quiet, and didn’t slip or spin once the entire why to Talkeetna. Since then I have drive many miles on super wet conditions in mountain passes, curvy roads, and long straights with no issues at all.

BFGoodrich made a proven winning tire in the KO2 and now have make it much better in this new KO3 version. Wider deeper strong tread with super strong side walls. I cannot wait to try this tire out in the snow, we will see if the KO3 is a great Alaska tire as the snow piles up and road become covered. So far in wet conditions they are amazing.
